Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading the development of assigned business units' demand forecasts, which drive the planning processes that support attainment of sales forecasts and established customer service objectives. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborates with business units to identify and resolve discrepancies between sales forecasts and demand forecasts. - Collects business unit marketing data and incorporates it into statistical forecasting models to generate demand forecasts. - Leads development and execution of communication and performance enhancements to demand forecasting processes and systems. - Measures variances between forecast and actual demand, analyzes cause and effect, recommends corrective action, and publishes results. - Performs forecast systems user maintenance and refines model parameters to generate a statistical forecast. - Provides data and analysis for other departments as appropriate. - Provides technical and process expertise, guidance and support to team members
Qualifications
Summary of Experience
- Forecasting using various forecasting techniques and algorithms in a consumer products or related environment (5 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Ability to build consensus among team members - Ability to influence others - Ability to participate in and lead cross-functional teams - Ability to manage integrated forecast planning systems - Ability to use forecasting systems to develop strategic and tactical solutions - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
