From our headquarters in Kettering you will take accountability for the entire ingredients spend; developing and driving innovative, long-term procurement strategies that deliver challenging savings targets while optimizing service and quality.  

A key consideration will be to reduce the impact of market volatility of raw materials.  You will become the ingredients expert; building a detailed understanding of market dynamics and developments and presenting strategies at CEO level.

This is a strategic procurement team; you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of two buyers as well as representing the company across the market on an external basis. 

Your background

• Graduate calibre (ideally with additional professional qualification)
• Professional strategic category management experience gained within a blue-chip food manufacturing environment
• Previous experience of managing ingredients categories that are impacted by market forces is a must (wheat, cereals, sugar, fruit etc)
• Clear understanding and appreciation of professional procurement protocols and practices
• Ability to develop and lead cross-functional projects and operate effectively at senior levels internally and externally
