Job Description

£38-45,000

Job Title: Purchasing Manager (Finished Goods, Overseas)

Primary objective of this position:
To develop the supply chain within with full responsibility for the financial planning
Reporting to and their job title: Purchasing Director.

Responsibilities:
" To control the sourcing of all goods and services supplied to the company.
" To liaise with other UK group companies at supplier level (as required) to ensure that we all obtain the most cost effective supply arrangements.
" To ensure that all supplier details are correct and are on the UK costing system.
" To contribute to the annual department activity plan for the purchasing department. To manage the day to day work plans in the department.
" To work with Product Development, Sales and Marketing, Engineering and Finance departments to ensure continuous development of ongoing and new products.
" To manage the timely procurement at appropriate quality of all products and services.
" To negotiate supply agreements with nominated suppliers.
" To implement personal training plans for all staff within the department.
" To enhance the image of the business with all suppliers and outside organizations.

Main Duties:
" To manage the team of Buyers on a daily basis.
" To negotiate contracts for the company and any other duties required to assist in supporting the achievement of Company objectives.

Principal Accountabilities:
" To deliver and track the annual cost improvement program for Overseas Products.
" To ensure the day to day compliance of company procedures within the Purchasing Department.
" To support new product introductions to ensure products are supplied on time and to desired quality.
" To manage the day to day team activities.

Education / Qualifications:

" CIPS or equivalent qualification

Experience
" At least 10 year's experience within Manufacturing, Automotive or Aerospace industries
" Good Manager of People
" Commercially aware
" Overseas Sourcing Experience i.e. Asia, South Africa
